Play Doom on a Kindle (Freedoom, no jailbreak)

"Can it run Doom?" A Kindle can, in its stock browser, with no jailbreak.

How

KindleHub runs the Doom engine as plain JavaScript, with Freedoom, a free, open-source set of levels and art made to work with it. No commercial game files are included.

Play it

What to expect

E-ink redraws the whole screen for every frame, so it is slow and choppy, and there is no sound. It is a party trick more than a way to play Doom, but it does run.

Opening it on your Kindle

1. On the Kindle, open the menu and choose Web Browser (on some models it is under Experimental or the … menu).
2. Type kindlehub.pro into the address bar.
3. Bookmark it. Nothing to install, no jailbreak, and a firmware update cannot break it.
