Drawing on a Kindle

Regular Kindles have no drawing app, but the touchscreen works in the browser.

The canvas

KindleHub has a drawing canvas built for e-ink: strokes appear without the screen flashing, and you can save drawings. There is also a pixel art app.

Limits

A finger is not a stylus, and e-ink has lag, so it suits doodles and diagrams, not fine art. A Kindle Scribe does this far better.

Opening it on your Kindle

  1. On the Kindle, open the menu and choose Web Browser (on some models it is under Experimental or the … menu).
  2. Type kindlehub.pro into the address bar.
  3. Bookmark it. Nothing to install, no jailbreak, and a firmware update cannot break it.

Questions

Can you draw on a Kindle Paperwhite?

Yes, with your finger, using a drawing page in the browser. Expect some lag.

Is it as good as a Kindle Scribe?

No. The Scribe has a pen and is built for it.
