Flashcards on a Kindle with spaced repetition
A Kindle is a good study device: no notifications, an easy-on-the-eyes screen, and long battery life. Flashcards fit it well because each card is just text.
Spaced repetition
KindleHub's flashcards use SM-2, the same scheduling idea Anki is built on: cards you know come back less often, cards you miss come back sooner. You make decks right on the device.
Limits
Typing long cards on the Kindle keyboard is slow, so short cards work best. It does not import Anki decks.
Opening it on your Kindle
- On the Kindle, open the menu and choose Web Browser (on some models it is under Experimental or the … menu).
- Type kindlehub.pro into the address bar.
- Bookmark it. Nothing to install, no jailbreak, and a firmware update cannot break it.
Questions
Can you use Anki on a Kindle?
Not the Anki app itself, but KindleHub's flashcards use the same SM-2 spaced-repetition method in the Kindle's browser.
Do I need to jailbreak?
No. It runs in the Kindle's built-in web browser.
Can I import Anki decks?
No, decks are made on the device.
