How to play games on a Kindle (no jailbreak)
The Kindle's built-in web browser can run games, as long as they are built for e-ink: turn-based or tap-driven, and drawn so the screen does not flash on every move.
100+ games made for e-ink
KindleHub has over 100 games written for the Kindle screen: chess, sudoku, nonograms, kakuro, solitaire, word games, a roguelike, a deckbuilder, 8-ball, and more. Each screen is drawn once and only the parts that change are redrawn.
Poki web games: KindlePoki
Normal web game sites will not load in the Kindle browser. KindlePoki runs Poki's free browser games on a server and shows them on the Kindle as pictures; your taps go through. Slow-paced and puzzle games play well. Anything that needs fast reflexes does not, and there is no sound.
With a jailbreak
If your Kindle is jailbroken, KOReader game plugins run natively and faster. KindleHub needs no jailbreak, so it also works on Kindles nobody has modified.
Opening it on your Kindle
- On the Kindle, open the menu and choose Web Browser (on some models it is under Experimental or the … menu).
- Type kindlehub.pro into the address bar.
- Bookmark it. Nothing to install, no jailbreak, and a firmware update cannot break it.
