A star map on your Kindle
An e-ink screen does not glow, which makes it a good stargazing companion: it will not ruin your night vision.
The star map
KindleHub's star map uses your location and the time to show what is above you right now, so you can match it to the sky.
Turn the front light down or off outside to keep your eyes adjusted.
Opening it on your Kindle
- On the Kindle, open the menu and choose Web Browser (on some models it is under Experimental or the … menu).
- Type kindlehub.pro into the address bar.
- Bookmark it. Nothing to install, no jailbreak, and a firmware update cannot break it.
Questions
Can a Kindle show a star map?
Yes, through a star map page in its web browser.
Is a Kindle good for stargazing?
Better than a phone: with the light off, e-ink gives off no glow.
