Play Last Ladder on your Kindle
How to play
A rescue you cannot do on your own. Two to four of you are a fire crew in a burning building: o is somebody waiting, L is the ladder, ~ is fire, = is a square somebody has made fireproof. You take turns, and nothing moves until somebody acts. The fire spreads one step at the end of every round, and it gets faster, so there is no waiting it out. The roles cannot cover for each other, and that is the game: the Hose puts out a fire beside them and can never pick anybody up; the Runner moves two squares and is the one who carries people to the ladder; the Brace makes six squares fireproof for good; the Medic carries, and gets a knocked-down crewmate straight back up. Somebody with fire beside them turns into a !, which is your warning that they are about to be cut off. And the LADDER itself can catch: while it is alight nobody gets out, however many people are behind you. Get everybody out and you win together. If the fire catches somebody who is still inside, you all lose. Play round one Kindle or open a crew room and play online.
Like every game in KindleHub, Last Ladder is drawn once and only the parts that change are redrawn, so the e-ink screen does not flash between moves. It runs in the Kindle's built-in browser and in any phone, tablet or desktop browser.
How to open it on your Kindle
