How to play
You have taken over a small bus line with three buses and thirty days to turn it into a business worth £100,000. The whole line runs in one tap, so what you decide is what to do with the takings. Every morning the paper tells you what kind of day it is: a market or a match means far more people at one stop, rain means more people and less patience, roadworks slow every round trip down. Then you spend. Another bus means the buses come round more often, and it costs £400 a day whether anybody rides it or not, so too big a fleet loses money exactly as surely as too small a one. Bigger buses mean fewer people turned away at a busy stop. Advertising brings more people to the line for good. And some stops are awkward, marked slow, holding every single round trip up until you pay to rebuild one. Anybody left waiting too long gives up and walks, and that is what your reputation measures, which is in turn how many people turn up at all, so a line that cannot cope shrinks. Read yesterday before you spend today: people giving up is service you could have sold.
