Play Nine Nights on your Kindle
How to play
Hold a shelter for nine nights. Nothing moves until you act. By DAY you pick one of three places to search, and the card tells you what it brings back, how likely somebody comes home hurt, and whether anyone is sheltering there, before you choose. At NIGHTFALL you spend boards shutting doors, and a shut door lets nothing through it. Then the NIGHT is six watches: each survivor takes one action and the whole board steps once. z is a walker, H is the fire, + is an open door, # is a door you boarded, a number is one of your people and ! is one who is hurt. Walking into a walker puts it down and you keep your square, so standing beside the fire is how you hold it: four squares touch the fire and nothing can step onto one you are standing on. If a walker reaches the fire it costs an ember, and at zero the run is over. Board every door and they come over the corners instead, which is twice as far. Food is eaten at dawn, one each; one wound mends overnight and medicine mends one there and then. The boards are pulled down by morning, so every night has to be paid for again.
Like every game in KindleHub, Nine Nights is drawn once and only the parts that change are redrawn, so the e-ink screen does not flash between moves. It runs in the Kindle's built-in browser and in any phone, tablet or desktop browser.
How to open it on your Kindle
- On the Kindle, open the menu and choose Web Browser (on some models it is under Experimental or the … menu).
- Type kindlehub.pro into the address bar.
- Bookmark it. That is the whole setup: nothing to install, no jailbreak, and a firmware update cannot break it.
